Dr. Ahmad Cluntun has joined the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. His lab will focus on pioneering research into lactate metabolism and its impact on heart function, aiming to unravel the cellular mechanisms of heart disease. By studying how the heart adapts to metabolic stress, the lab seeks to develop novel therapies for cardiovascular conditions. Dr. Cluntun also has joint secondary faculty appointments in the Department of Medicine in the Division of Endocrinology, Metabolism and Nutrition as well as in the Division of Cardiovascular Diseases and Hypertension.
